Summertime has finally arrived in Boston, and with it the opening of outdoor seating at restaurants and cafes—and summer cocktail menus. Here are some our favorite places to go enjoy a cool drink on a hot summer day.

Central Square’s new Italian restaurant Viale is offering a limited-edition cocktail based on five Polar Seltzer flavors—watermelon, mango berry, strawberry, raspberry and pineapple grapefruit. The cocktails will be introduced every two weeks throughout the summer. Pair one of these cool, summery drinks with brunch or the day boat scallops from their dinner menu.

Frosé (frozen rosé) has become one of the biggest trends of the summer. You can enjoy one of these inventions at Frenchie in the South End, where Cinsault rose is served up with a hint of grapefruit juice. There’s outdoor seating in front of the restaurant, which also has a solarium.

If you’re looking for a casual and fun atmosphere and have a craving for Tex Mex, Fajitas and Ritas is the place to go. Known for phenomenal frozen margaritas, Fajitas and Ritas offers mango, strawberry and raspberry flavors and offers bottomless baskets of tortilla chips. Be sure to ask what the special frozen marg of the day is.

Self-described as a modern Asian gastropub, Banyan sits on the edge of the Sound End and offers an outdoor patio. The restaurant has tiki-drinks and an extensive drinks menu—the “Our Painkiller” is a popular one—it’s made with five-spice infused rum and topped with orange, pineapple and coconut foam.

Enjoy the roof deck of this Harvard Square spot with a Coconut Mai Tai (Malibu rum, pineapple juice with grenadine and dark rum) in hand, tucked away on Mt. Auburn Street. Formerly a greenhouse, Daedalus is often frequented by the Harvard crowd and offers a relaxed atmosphere.
