There are over 2,300 acres comprising 217 parks in Boston, which means abundant possibilities for an outdoor picnic. Here are some of the best spots in Boston and Cambridge.

The Public Garden

Watch the mallard ducks in the pond and enjoy the shade of the beautiful, majestic trees in the Boston Gardens—the very first botanical garden of the United States. There are plenty of benches facing the water and spots where you can spread out a blanket and take refuge from the summer sun under the shade. The Boston Gardens is across from Newbury Street.
