The Boston Book Festival is the city’s premier literary event with the goal of promoting a culture of reading and the importance of words in our society. The festival features over 100 authors from different genres who will give presentations and keynote speeches, including Emma Donoghue, Tom Perrotta, and Maria Semple. Exhibitors of all kinds, including independent publishers, magazines, performance companies, food vendors, and even an area dedicated to children’s’ entertainment will be on hand to provide an optimal experience. The One City One Story program, started by the Boston Book Festival, prints and distributes 30,000 copies of a single short story in an attempt to create a shared reading experience for Boston. The selection for this year’s program has not yet been chosen.
