Sure New York, Paris and Milan come to mind in terms of mega fashion weeks but Boston Fashion Week is chalk full of raw talent and fun events that are not to be missed. Boston Fashion Week is from October 5-11, 20114 and we’re giddy with anticipation. This year fashion week is in its 19th year! The official schedule will not be posted until August 29, but if it’s anything like previous years we’re sure it’s one not to be missed. We are most excited about the MassArt Senior Collection Fashion Show. Massachusetts College of Art and Design has a strong Fashion Design program and these rising fashion stars are not scared to take risks. The renowned Rhode Island School of Design also hosts a fashion show as well.
But Fashion Week isn’t just about the raising stars, plenty of established designers partake as well. Previous shows have included well-known designers like Emily Muller, Michael DePaulo, and Daniel Faucher Couture.
Boston Fashion Week is a dress-to-impress affair so hit up some of our favorite boutiques before you hit the town. We love Crush Boutique (131 Charles Street) in neighboring Beacon Hill. In addition to Crush’s attentive service we love their array of unique accessories and hip cocktail dresses. Lit Boutique (236 Hanover Street) has a great jewelry selection perfect for adding just the right finishing touch to your look. Louis Boston (60 Northern Ave.) has long been the go-to outpost for Boston fashionistas male and female alike. The clothing selection here is carefully curated and the pieces are sure to make a statement. Louis Boston offers a special consultation service as well so you will be sure your perched in the front row donning the latest looks. Well dressed in the know men head to Riccardi (116 Newbury St.) where they can expect to find everything from the beloved Comme des Garçons French label to Dior Homme t-shirts to place under a motor cycle jacket for an edgy fall look.
