The Fisherman’s Feast

August 18, 2016 - August 21, 2016

The oldest annual Italian festival in the North End and one of Boston’s greatest traditions, the Fisherman’s Feast celebrates its 106th year this August. The festival is meant to celebrate the Sicilian fisherman’s loyalty to Madonna del Soccorso, or Our Lady of Help. On Friday and Saturday there will be live shows performed throughout the day, and vendors  will serve with Italian favorites like sausages, pizza, pasta, calamari, and more. By far the most exciting event of the weekend, and one that National Geographic called a spectacle not to be missed,” is the “Flight of the Angel,” which consists of parade goers parading the statue of Madonna around town.
