Calling all locomotive enthusiasts! When it comes to the holiday season many think of planes, trains and automobiles, but usually we think of those we are actually transported in rather than those you collect. Unless, of course, you know about Greenberg’s Train and Toy Show, has been the largest traveling show featuring operating model train displays, hard-to-find railroad items and more since 1976. This year’s show takes place in Wilmington, MA at the Shriners Auditorium (99 Fordham Rd, Wilmington) from November 22-23, 2014. The show will be open from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on both Saturday &Sunday and great news for families — kids under 12 are free! Tickets are $8 each for adults.
The Greenberg’s Train and Toy Show will feature over 400 tables of trains for sale and more than 90 exhibitors from around the country. There will be a large operating model train on display. Looking to learn more about trains? You are in luck! There will be a host of free workshops and demonstrations including Introduction to Digital Command Control (DCC), Model Building and Weathering, Making Hopper Car Loads, Scenicking a Mountain Scene, Prototype Modeling: When Milk Trains Came to Boston and Realistic Weathering for Freight Cars and Engines. Don’t miss out on the hourly door prizes and more. Getting to Wilmington from The Boxer is easy, as it is only a 30 minute drive.
One of the best parts of the Greenberg train and toy show is the hobby market where there will be tons of model and toy trains on display. If you’re looking for scenery supplies and hobby tools, this is your “stop”. At Greenberg’s Train and Toy Show you can purchase helpful how-to videos and more. There will also be train parts and train accessories on sale so you can always ensure that your engine will run smoothly.
