The seventh annual Boston Local Food Festival is a free outdoor festival focused on connecting visitors with the abundance of fresh local food available in New England. In addition to enjoying delicious and nutritious eats from farmers, food trucks, fishermen and more, guests are able to participate in fun activities and exhibits and listen to live local music. These include a chef demo stage, a family fun zone, and a “seafood throwdown” where two chefs will face off using a secret seafood ingredient. The event itself is extremely green: 91% of the festival’s waste is diverted and 100% of energy use is offset. Over 100 vendors and exhibitors participate each year and the festival draws a crowd of close to 30,000 people.
